Lead Loan Operative and Loan Operatives - London/US East Coast - Immediate start 4m assignment
Location: Primarily remote, with ad-hoc access to US or UK offices
Engagement: 1st September – 31st December 2025 (possible extension)
We need a Lead Loan Operative and two Loan Operatives to support a client in Loan Operations. This team will address a backlog of manual payments, improve process efficiencies, and handle unapplied cash and margin calculations.
The Team & Structure
Lead Loan Operative (US‑based preferred – Boston, Charlotte, or New York)
2 Loan Operatives (US or UK-based; report to the Lead)
Main Objectives
Clear existing manual payments backlog. Implement process improvements and remediations. Focus on reporting, margins applied to loans, and unapplied cash resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve unapplied cash issues
- Investigate mismatches, understand root causes, assess margin impact
- Produce and maintain loan reports
- Read, interpret, and draft Loan Agreements
- Review General Ledger impact; perform remediation as required
- Work alongside global Operations teams in the US and India, with regular updates to the Global Head of Operations
Focus Areas
- Clean up data quality issues, especially unapplied cash; propose mitigation plans
- Collaborate with stakeholders to present findings on Data Quality Improvement, Monitoring, and Root Cause Analysis
- Carry out Data Profiling and Data Cleansing/Validation
- Validate corrections after processing
Required Skills & Experience
- Functional and accounting experience with Loan IQ; background in loan operations
- Knowledge of Corporate Lending and Loan Servicing
- SQL query writing capability
- Strong organisational, analytical, prioritisation, and time‑management skills
- Clear verbal and written communication
