Overview
We are hiring an End-to-End Test Manager to lead UAT and early user testing for a large workplace migration programme. The client is migrating 700 users across four European regions from an on-prem Windows 10 workplace to an Azure-hosted Windows 11 workplace. Scope includes 60+ applications across client-hosted and SaaS, plus unstructured user data migration from data centre and Azure-hosted environments into a target Azure environment. The programme runs three workstreams: Platform, Applications and Devices, and Data. Go live is planned for the beginning of March.
What you’ll do
Run end-to-end ownership of the overall UAT approach across the Applications and Devices workstream and the Data workstream.
Define the UAT strategy, scope, phases, entry and exit criteria, and overall test calendar aligned to the rollout plan.
Design and run early user testing, including pre-provisioned test laptops issued to friendly users in each office location to validate regional settings and local requirements.
Own test planning deliverables, including test plan, scenarios, scripts, test data approach, test execution runbooks, and sign-off packs.
Coordinate UAT participants, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure environments, data, and access are ready for testing.
Establish defect management governance, including severity model, triage process, ownership rules, SLAs, retest approach, and reporting cadence.
Lead daily defect triage sessions, ensure clear assignment and prioritisation, and drive defects through to closure within aggressive timelines.
Provide daily and weekly reporting on test progress, defect trends, readiness risks, and go-live recommendations.
Work closely with Platform, Applications and Devices, and Data leads to manage dependencies and remove blockers.
Manage defects identified during rollout and hypercare, including intake, prioritisation, escalation, and closure reporting.
Drive continuous improvement of the test process, focusing on speed, clarity, and decision quality.
Systems you use
You will work with test and delivery tooling such as Jira or Azure DevOps, plus reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI. You will also coordinate across workplace and migration tooling used by the programme teams.
What we're looking for
Proven end-to-end Test Manager experience owning UAT across multiple workstreams on complex change programmes.
Strong experience delivering testing for modern workplace or EUC programmes, including Windows migration, device readiness, and application readiness.
Experience with Azure-hosted workplace environments and enterprise workplace rollouts.
Strong experience testing large application estates, including SaaS and client-hosted applications, with clear prioritisation and risk-based coverage.
Strong experience testing user data migration, including unstructured data, access and permissions, integrity checks, and reconciliation approaches.
Hands on ownership of defect governance, including triage leadership, severity models, and driving closure at pace.
Experience designing and running pilots or early user testing with pre-provisioned devices and multi-site regional variance.
Clear, structured communication with technical teams and business stakeholders, including decision-ready updates and sign-off materials.
Strong delivery discipline, able to stand up a full test approach quickly and execute within compressed timelines.
