Junior Business Intelligence Developer
About the role
Our client is a leading global financial services organisation. This role sits within their Data Services team supporting Global Broking and wider business areas. The position focuses on supporting the delivery of data and reporting initiatives, helping produce accurate and meaningful insights into business performance. You will work closely with experienced BI professionals and senior stakeholders, contributing to the development of dashboards, data processes, and reporting solutions.
Seeking entry level graduates as well as professionals with 2-4 years experience.
What you’ll do
Support the delivery of data and reporting projects, contributing to the development and maintenance of BI dashboards (primarily using Qlik).
Assist in ensuring BI dashboards remain accurate, reliable, and efficient, helping monitor quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
Help maintain the day-to-day operation of data extraction and dashboard processes, assisting in resolving issues where they arise.
Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into data and reporting outputs.
Support the Data Services team in managing priorities and highlighting any risks or conflicts.
Build effective working relationships with business users and assist in providing insights to support decision making.
Assist in presenting dashboards and reports to users and support training and adoption where required.
Investigate data issues, support troubleshooting activities, and help ensure accurate reporting outputs.
Contribute to improving data processes, reporting quality, and system efficiency over time.

Technical Skills
Exposure to data visualisation tools (Qlik preferred, Power BI or Tableau also suitable).
Basic to intermediate SQL and data scripting knowledge.
Understanding of data modelling, data extraction, and data transformation concepts.
Exposure to XML/JSON data formats desirable.
Awareness of Qlik Cloud or dashboard environments beneficial.
Basic knowledge of Python or interest in data analytics/data science tools is advantageous.
Experience
Experience supporting BI, reporting, or data-related activities (internship, placement, or professional experience).
Exposure to working with databases and extracting data using SQL (at least 1 year experience using SQL).
Ability to work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and support BI solutions.
Experience analysing data and producing reports using BI or reporting tools.
Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain data outputs clearly.
Ability to troubleshoot issues, investigate data queries, and support problem resolution.
