Business Migration Lead - Insurance - UK hybrid
Vantage Point Global is supporting a major transformation programme within the insurance sector and we are looking for an experienced Business Migration Lead to help strengthen and stabilise a critical migration workstream.
This role spans the full migration lifecycle for a complex policy administration replacement programme. With further product releases approaching, the programme needs a strong business-led migration specialist who can take ownership of the end-to-end process, identify where risks sit, and drive improvement before future releases.
We are particularly interested in people who can bridge business and technical teams, bring structure to migration governance, and help ensure the business fully understands the impact of migration decisions. Prior insurance experience, ideally including underwriting exposure, will be highly valuable.
What you will be doing
Lead an end-to-end review of the migration lifecycle, from requirements and mapping through to test cycles, batch execution and cutover
Identify gaps, root causes and improvement opportunities across the current migration process
Assess existing controls, quality gates and assurance steps, and define where these need to be strengthened or introduced
Review upcoming product scope to identify heightened risks, including complexity in mapping rules, product structures and batch dependencies
Translate technical migration dependencies into clear business impacts, risks and decisions
Act as the business lead across migration activity, ensuring strong coordination between delivery, technology and business stakeholders
Escalate migration issues where needed and support timely decisions on remediation and risk acceptance
Strengthen governance, checkpoints and accountability across migration cycles
Support business readiness for dry runs, mock runs and final cutover activity
Ensure migrated outputs are validated properly, including policy accuracy, underwriting rules and financial outcomes
What we are looking for
Strong experience leading or overseeing business migration activity on large transformation programmes
Experience reviewing end-to-end migration processes, controls and governance in delivery environments where quality and timing are critical
Hands-on experience of delivery implementation runbooks, rollback scenarios, management of dress rehearsals, and business readiness management
Ability to identify root causes across business and technical workstreams and drive practical improvement actions
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, escalate and influence at senior level
Experience working across requirements, data mapping, testing, batch execution and cutover planning
Comfortable operating in complex environments with multiple dependencies and evolving priorities
Able to translate technical detail into clear business risk and decision points
Insurance sector experience is strongly preferred
Underwriting knowledge or exposure would be particularly valuable
UK-based and able to travel onsite 1 to 2 days per week
Nice to haves
Experience in policy administration system replacement programmes
Experience across personal lines products such as Home or Motor
Background in business change, migration assurance, cutover or operational readiness
Experience working in consultancy-led or multi-vendor delivery environments
