The programme includes the implementation of Workday Financial Management and associated enterprise data platforms. We are looking for an experienced Data Migration and Cutover Lead to own the end-to-end migration and cutover approach, ensuring a controlled transition with minimal disruption to the business.
The Role
You will provide senior delivery leadership across data migration and cutover, working closely with the client, systems implementation partner, Finance, Data and Technology teams.
You will own the migration and cutover strategy, integrated plan and detailed runbook across multiple programme releases. You will oversee Workday data migration activity from initial extraction and transformation through to reconciliation, business validation and final sign-off.
The role requires strong communication, senior stakeholder engagement and the confidence to lead complex go-live events involving multiple teams and delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Data Migration and Cutover Workstream, providing clear direction, governance and delivery control.
Work with the client and systems implementation partner to manage migration to the target technology and data architecture.
Own and maintain the end-to-end migration and cutover strategy.
Develop the integrated cutover plan and detailed runbook across programme releases.
Lead the planning and execution of Workday Financial Management data migration.
Oversee extract, transform and load activity, including source-to-target mapping, data variations and migration rules.
Coordinate data validation, reconciliation, defect resolution and business sign-off.
Manage dependencies across Data, Finance, Technology, business teams and the systems implementation partner.
Establish and monitor business, technical and operational readiness criteria.
Plan and lead dress rehearsals, mock migrations and cutover readiness assessments.
Define and manage entry and exit criteria for each migration and cutover stage.
Lead the live cutover event and command centre, ensuring issues are prioritised, resolved and escalated effectively.
Maintain oversight of workstream risks, issues, decisions, milestones and dependencies.
Produce clear migration and cutover readiness reporting for senior stakeholders.
Prepare and present materials for working groups, Design Authority sessions, status meetings and programme governance forums.
Lead effective working groups and ensure stakeholders remain informed, aligned and accountable.
What We’re Looking For
Extensive experience leading data migration and cutover within complex finance or enterprise transformation programmes.
Essential experience delivering Workday Financial Management implementations.
Strong understanding of Workday data migration processes, including extraction, transformation, loading, mapping, validation and reconciliation.
Demonstrable experience creating and managing detailed cutover strategies, plans and runbooks.
Experience leading mock migrations, dress rehearsals, readiness assessments and live cutover events.
Strong understanding of migration controls, data quality, business validation and sign-off.
Experience managing dependencies across Finance, Data, Technology and business workstreams.
Confidence working with senior client stakeholders, systems implementation partners and programme leadership.
Strong governance, reporting, RAID management and delivery assurance capability.
Insurance, financial services or wider regulated industry experience would be highly beneficial.
You’ll Be a Strong Fit If You Can
Take full ownership of a complex migration and cutover workstream.
Translate technical migration activity into clear business and programme reporting.
Lead calmly and decisively during high-pressure cutover events.
Challenge delivery partners and stakeholders while maintaining collaborative relationships.
Identify readiness gaps early and drive them through to resolution.
Communicate clearly with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
Why Join?

You will play a central role in the transition to Workday Financial Management and associated data platforms, helping the organisation achieve a controlled go-live and establish stronger finance and data capabilities.
