Policy Migration Transformation Director | General Insurance | London hybrid | August start
About the Opportunity
We're supporting a leading General Insurance organisation seeking an experienced Migration Programme Director to provide leadership across a strategically important Policy Migration programme.
With significant executive visibility, this role requires a proven programme leader who can quickly assess the current landscape, establish clarity around delivery, and inject pace and confidence into the programme. Working closely with business, technology, and third-party partners, you will help ensure the migration strategy is translated into a realistic, achievable delivery plan and successfully executed.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complex transformation initiative and play a critical role in delivering one of the organisation's most important change programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Programme Leadership
Lead the overall direction and delivery of the Policy Migration programme.
Establish clear governance, accountability, and decision-making frameworks.
Create confidence across Executive stakeholders through transparent reporting, risk management, and delivery oversight.
Drive focus, momentum, and successful outcomes across all programme workstreams.
Shape and Execute Migration Strategy
Validate the existing migration approach and establish a clear roadmap for delivery.
Ensure business, operational, data, and technology considerations are fully aligned throughout the migration lifecycle.
Identify and address delivery risks, dependencies, and barriers to progress.
Drive successful planning and execution of migration activities.
Lead Complex Stakeholder Engagement
Build trusted relationships with senior business and technology leaders.
Act as the primary point of engagement for Executive stakeholders and programme sponsors.
Facilitate informed decision-making through clear communication of risks, trade-offs, and delivery priorities.
Align multiple stakeholder groups around shared programme objectives.
Manage Third-Party Delivery Partners
Ensure effective oversight and management of external suppliers and delivery partners.
Challenge delivery assumptions, plans, and timelines where required.
Drive accountability across all parties involved in programme execution.
Foster collaborative relationships that support successful programme outcomes.
Deliver Sustainable Business Outcomes
Ensure migration activities minimise operational disruption and business risk.
Drive readiness across impacted business teams and functions.
Maintain focus on delivering measurable business value and successful adoption of change.
Support the organisation in transitioning successfully to its future-state operating environment.
Required Experience
We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in:
Large-Scale Policy or Platform Migration Programmes
Enterprise Transformation and Change Delivery
Data Migration Strategy and Execution
Programme Recovery and Delivery Acceleration
Senior Executive Stakeholder Management
Third-Party Vendor and Systems Integrator Management
Insurance Technology Transformation
Governance, Risk Management, and Programme Controls
What We're Looking For
You will be a highly credible Programme Director with a track record of leading complex migration initiatives within insurance or broader financial services environments.
You'll be comfortable operating in challenging delivery environments, bringing structure where there is ambiguity, driving accountability across multiple stakeholders, and maintaining confidence at Executive level throughout the programme lifecycle.
Most importantly, you'll have the leadership capability, delivery experience, and stakeholder influence required to help a critical migration programme achieve a successful outcome.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to take a leading role in a business-critical transformation programme within a major insurer. You'll work directly with senior executives, influence strategic decision-making, and play a key role in ensuring the successful migration of a core policy platform.
